How HeirSearch Successfully Located a Missing Heir Against the Odds

HeirSearch was retained to conduct a comprehensive search to identify, locate, prove, and report on Jeremy House, the son of decedent Laureen House, whether alive or deceased.

In the event that the Subject was found to be deceased, HeirSearch was tasked with identifying, locating, proving, and reporting the Subject’s lineal heirs (his children and their respective issue).

Information Provided at Case Commencement

At the outset of the investigation, HeirSearch was supplied with the following documentation and background information:

  • Date and place of birth for Jeremy House
  • Confirmation that Ron House and Laureen Brown House are the Subject’s parents
  • The Subject’s last known place of residence
  • Copies of the Subject’s Birth Certificate and Baptism Record

Strategic Research & Fieldwork

Leveraging a wide range of commercial and public records databases, HeirSearch identified potential contact information for the Subject, including several telephone numbers.

  • Calls were placed to all identified numbers.
  • A voicemail was left on one number, though no return call was received.
  • Another number was found to be disconnected.

To advance the investigation, HeirSearch couriered a signature-required letter to the address reported for the Subject. Delivery was attempted, but no response was received at the residence.

Breakthrough Discovery

Further database research revealed that Mark Chadwick was also associated with the same address. An HeirSearch investigator contacted Mr. Chadwick, who confirmed that Jeremy House was his roommate.

Using Mr. Chadwick’s telephone number, HeirSearch conducted a direct interview with the Subject. During this conversation:

  • Jeremy House confirmed that he is the son of Laureen Brown House.
  • He advised that he does not currently maintain a personal telephone number.
  • He confirmed that email is his preferred and most reliable method of contact.

The Result

Through persistence, expertise, and strategic use of resources, HeirSearch successfully located and confirmed the missing heir, delivering accurate and timely results for the client.
